I am looking for a reputable breeder to find a quality female pom, either a blue merle, merle factored, or black and tan. I am planning on breeding my male parti-pom in the near future. I am not looking for a tiny girl, but rather one that would be around six or seven pounds when grown.Where can I find either a female blue merle or black and tan Pomeranian for sale either now or in the future?
I show and breed Poms :)
Merles are very hard to find from reputable breeders...why?? Because the color was brought in from other breeds and they lied on the papers.
Some (under 5) reputable breeders are just getting into merles though, but we just have the 1st one ever finish it's Ch.
Quaility in this color is lacking a great deal.
So would wait on adding merles.
If looking to breed Parti's best to find a Black N Tan Parti.
Not just a B%26amp;T since both genes are ressive, so less likelyhood of getting either color. Or will get say a black pup with white paws more than you would a B/T or a Tri (Black N Tan Parti)
Also if looking for a reputable breeder, if truely reputable they won't sell to you if your male is of pet quaility.
Most small breeders don't even own males, they use studs, since a male should never be used 2x with the same ***** inless they produce high quaility pups.
Females are so hard to get in our breed, and many would rather sell to a home they know will do the breed well when they breed it.
But where to look??
Here are some good links...
Here is a list of APC (American Pomeranian Club members)

Here is a link to Info dog, click on your state to find a show near you. So can go to shows, see what Poms should look like, feel like etc and learn from others. Also get to know breeders in your state and see who has what.

Diane Finich is the largest Parti show breeder
http://www.finchspoms.com/
She does sell them young (8-12wks, most breeders sell around 6 months, so can judge quaility better)
She does produce some very nice Parti's but have had serveral friends girls not turn out, or end up to small which is a risk you run since young when you buy them.
Just a warning, before you breed.
Poms are called the heartache breed by breeders.
We have tons of problems with whelping, so even if a ***** is on the high part of the weight standard, doesn't mean they too don't have problems. We normally have to have c-section, bitchs who don't produce milk so have to tube feed, and even lose girls during birth. You must also be there to whelp them, which may mean missing work.Where can I find either a female blue merle or black and tan Pomeranian for sale either now or in the future?
IF I WERE YOU I WOULD GO TO THE POUND BECAUSE THEIR ARE ALOT OF DIFFERENT DOGS AND THAT IF THEY ARE TO FULL THEY WILL PUT THEM TO SLEEP FOREVER.
Have you shown your male Pom, to help determine whether or not his genes are really worth passing on to the next generation? You should be able to meet up with reputable breeders at shows.
when you go to shows you will met such dogs and their owners.. the dog magazines will also list breeders.. a reputable breeder will not breed to an unproven dog.. meaning you should show yours to prove it is an excellent example of the breed WORTHY of passing on its genetics...
NEVER from pet store of course you know they sell the LOWEST quality of pup and the highest price
your local shelter, pet store, breeder
